Organizations within the disability community, including survivors, People First of Ontario, and the Council of Community Living Ontario, are organizing Flying to Freedom: The Journey from Institutionalization in Ontario to commemorate the closures, examine how we change attitudes and prevent people from being institutionalized, and commit ourselves to creating a fully inclusive society.
The event will take place on Tuesday, March 19th at the Al Green Theatre in Downtown Toronto.
