Approach

Experience

I take a resource-oriented, empowerment-based approach to community arts, using creativity as a way to build connection and personal growth. In my workshops, I blend different artistic mediums to create a generative, supportive space where participants can express themselves freely. It’s about the process, not just the outcome. Through collaboration and careful consultation, I help people build resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging—making art that’s both meaningful and empowering.

Experience

Experience

With over 16 years as a community arts facilitator and a background as a Montessori elementary school teacher, I bring a diverse range of skills to my work. I excel in navigating challenging group dynamics and prioritize practical, transformative solutions. My career has included collaborations with local and international arts organizations focused on using creativity to drive positive change. Drawing on this experience, I strive to create meaningful and impactful experiences for every group I work with.

Event Facilitation

I offer dynamic workshops and presentations on mental health, equity-based work, and community arts, drawing on my own research and experiences. My master’s thesis, Empowerment Through Hip-Hop and Expressive Arts Therapy: Respect the Architect, is at the heart of much of my work, and I weave those insights into everything I do. Whether it’s diving into mental health topics or exploring the power of creative expression, my goal is always to spark meaningful conversations and inspire positive change.

Program Development

Program Development

I work closely with arts-based organizations and community members to create and deliver programs that truly reflect the needs and goals of the communities they serve. By collaborating with everyone involved, I ensure that each initiative is both relevant and impactful, using the arts to address specific challenges and inspire positive change.
